Madurai Institute of Nursing

Madurai Institute of Nursing was established by Madurai Geriatric Care Foundation and is recognized by the Govt of Tamil Nadu, Indian Nursing Council, TN nurses and midwives Council and Affiliated to The TN Dr MGR Medical University.


Ever since its inception, a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and research has made it a path-setter. Its rich academic tradition has always attracted the most talented students who later on went on to make important contributions to the society.

The goal of nursing is to promote health throughout life span, prevent illness, restore and or maintain the dignity and essential life function altered by illness.

“The Science of Nursing” is the contemplation, exploration and research of person, environment and health.

Philosophy of College
“Education” for professional nursing practice includes sound theoretical knowledge base to support experiential learning. Faculty believes the educational process facilitates continuing personal and professional growth in which students and faculty mutually share the responsibility of the outcome.

We believe that nursing is a profession that requires knowledge, skill and attitude based on the values of human life, which enable a nurse to provide holistic health care.

We recognize that nursing education helps an individual to be in harmony with the environment that is according to the accepted principles of nursing profession.

Mission Statement
We prepare all levels of professional nurses by rendering quality education and training, to be compassionate, professionally excellent, ethically sound individuals who will go out as health team providing holistic health care to individual family and community.

Objectives

  • To establish and maintain a centre of excellence for the pursuit of Higher Education in Nursing.
  • To meet the needs of the individual, families and the community through Primary Nursing in order to maintain optimum function.
  • To develop cognitive, affective, and psychomotor competencies essential for adapting to the Socio cultural changes of today and tomorrow’s world.

Aim

  • To instil and develop an aptitude for nursing to provide necessary knowledge and skills among the students.
  • To develop skill in recognizing and interpreting physical, mental and emotional manifestations of illness and be able to plan individual nursing care to patients based on their individual need using nursing process.
  • To practice and inculcate ethical values and moral principles in their personal and professional life involved in practice of nursing.
